Advice for Assembly

Assembly Advice

Please use the manufacturers instructions as a guide to how the beds are assembled and not the order in which to assemble them into a small room.

When installed into a small room, the overriding advice is to completely assemble the long sides first, as 2 separate items, carry them into position and then fix them together using the head/foot boards. This way, any issues with installing long bolts through the ends of the bed when tight up against a wall, are avoided.

Boxroombeds are generally assembled into rooms of  2 different types.

Some beds are installed into relatively spacious rooms or alcoves, where the bed can be assembled well away from any walls and then pushed into an alcove or just positioned somewhere in the room. Customers who are installing a bed into this type of room will be able to follow the order of construction given in the manufacturers instructions for your bed.

If, however, like a lot of customers, your bed is going into a room where the finished bed will be tight up against 3 walls, please follow the advice below. The manufacturers instructions need to be referred to, as these will show you how the different parts of the bed fit together, but not the order in which to assemble.

General Advice

The main problem with assembling a bed in a tight space is the long bolts which go through the end of the bed. The procedures below ensure that all long bolts are in place before the bed is placed into the tight position it is to be used in.

The way to do this is to assemble the long sides of the bed first, and then attach the 2 sides together using the shorter end rails.

General advice for each type of bed we provide are given below.

Single beds – assemble the long sides of the bed first as below:
rear long side – 2 x legs, 1 x slat support rail
front long side – 2 x legs, 1 x slat support rail
Then place the two long sides roughly into position and attach  together using the end rails/headboards.
Finally secure the slats in place using the screws provided.

Midsleeper beds – assemble the long sides of the bed first as below:
rear long side – 2 x legs, 1 x slat support rail, 2 x full length safety rails
front long side – 2 x legs, 1 x slat support rail, 2 x short safety rails, ladder assembly
Then place the two sides roughly into position and attach  together using the end rails/headboards.
Finally secure the slats in place using the screws provided.

Bunk beds – assemble the long sides of the bed first as below:
rear side – 2 x legs, 2 x slat support rail, 2 x full length safety rails
front side – 2 x legs, 2 x slat support rail, 2 x short safety rails, ladder assembly
Then place the two sides roughly into position and attach  together using the end rails/headboards.
Finally secure both sets of slats in place using the screws provided.

Loft beds – assemble the sides of the bed first as below:
rear side – 2 x legs, 1 x slat support rail, 2 x full length safety rails, 1 x full length lower rail
front side – 2 x legs, 1 x slat support rail, 2 x short safety rails, ladder assembly
Then place the two sides roughly into position and attach  together using the end rails/headboards.
Finally secure the slats in place using the screws provided.
